Watch Your Faves During SyFy’s Epic Vampire Movie Marathon

Awesome news for the movie fans! SyFy just announced that they are going to have a huge all-day vampire movie marathon on September 3rd. From the looks of the lineup it’s going to be a pretty rad marathon too with a few big blockbuster flicks on the list.

According to the press release, “Syfy will take a bite out of the Labor Day holiday with a special vampire-themed movie marathon on Monday, September 3rd, from 8:30 AM-3:00 AM (ET/PT), highlighted by Stake Land (4:30 PM), Blade II (6:30 PM), and Daybreakers (9:00 PM).”

Here’s a complete list of the vampire movies playing:

Prowl
Amber dreams of escaping her small town existence and persuades her friends to accompany her to find an apartment in the big city. When their transportation breaks down, she and her friends accept a ride in the back of a semi. But when the driver refuses to stop and they discover the cargo is hundreds of cartons of blood, they panic. Their panic turns to terror when the truck disgorges them into a dark, abandoned warehouse where blood-thirsty creatures learn to hunt human prey, which, the friends realize, is what they now are…

Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant
Teenage Darren Shan meets a mysterious man at a freak show who turns out to be a vampire. After a series of events Darren must leave his normal life and go on the road with the Cirque Du Freak.

30 Days of Night: Dark Days
After surviving the incidents in Barrow, Alaska, Stella Olemaun relocates to Los Angeles, where she intentionally attracts the attention of the local vampire population in order to avenge the death of her husband, Eben.

True Bloodthirst
A SyFy flick set in a not-too-distant future in which a synthetic blood substitute, dispensed by the Romanian government, allows humans and vampires to potentially co-exist (the True Blood/Daybreakers copycat).

Stake Land
Martin was a normal teenage boy before the country collapsed in an empty pit of economic and political disaster. A vampire epidemic has swept across what is left of the nation’s abandoned towns and cities, and it’s up to Mister, a death dealing, rogue vampire hunter, to get Martin safely north to Canada, the continent’s New Eden.

Blade II
Blade forms an uneasy alliance with the vampire council in order to combat the Reaper vampires who feed on vampires.

Daybreakers
In the year 2019, a plague has transformed almost every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind.

Dracula 3000: Infinite Darkness
In the year 3000 A.D., the crew of a commercial space freighter happens upon the wreckage of the Demeter, a massive space ship that has been missing for nearly a century. Aware that there’s a substantial bounty being offered for the return of the ship’s cargo, the freighter’s crew begin exploring the Demeter to see what remains, and they discover that the ship’s hold includes a large cache of black coffins. However, the real surprise lurks inside the coffins — a gang of vampires, taking advantage of the darkness of deep space, have taken refuge in the Demeter’s payload, and they soon begin attacking those who have discovered them.

There you have it. It’s a pretty decent lineup, there are some duds on there, but a few awesome films as well. Anyone here tuning into the upcoming marathon?

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

  5. Cool! Those are some awesome movies they have listed. I have not yet seen Stake Land, but it looks awesome and I’m considering just ordering it. Dracula 3000,however, has to be the worst vampire film I’ve ever seen (next to Twilght that is)!!! LOL. Well, I’m glad SyFy is having a vampire movie marathon. If only they would air Forever Knight and Dark Shadows again. LMAO!
