What We Do In The Blacklight
We’re getting closer and closer to the premiere of WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, the television series, which is set to debut on FX on March 27th. If the show is half as good as the movie that inspired it, it will be a most welcome addition to the airwaves. The network wants to keep our appetites primed for the show, because it keeps releasing clips, and now it has released these two awesome blacklight posters. Check these bad boys out. Pretty sweet, ain’t they? Of the pair, I like the one where the vampires are hanging upside-down, like bats, better.
The new series won’t feature the same characters as we saw in the 2014 movie, unfortunately, but what we *are* getting sounds delightful. A vampire husband and wife, a third-wheel vampire, and an “energy vampire”—the latter sucks energy from people by telling them boring stories and lame jokes—all living together, as they have cohabitated for centuries.
Thinking about it, I’m glad they aren’t going to use the characters from the movie. The latter is too perfect. Anything they might do with it at this point could never top what they’ve already achieved. It’s better to do something in the same vein—heh—with different characters in a different setting. I can’t wait for this one.
