What We Do With The Gingerbread

We are in the doldrums now. That’s what I call the period immediately following the end of the holidays. It encompasses most of the month of January, the dreariest, dullest, saddest month of the year. I always get depressed once the holidays have passed, and this year is no different. It helped a little bit in that I have the Covid vaccine to look forward to; each day that passes we get a little closer to this damn pandemic being consigned to history. Still, though, the doldrums persist. And I’ve found that, this year especially, now that the holidays *are* over, I want to put them out of my mind completely. Reminders just make me sad.

Here’s an exception, though. A gingerbread house. This one was created as a reproduction of the house from WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS and it is a true piece of edible Art. Series creator Jemaine Clement even took note of it and offered his praise. And not only is the house there, but so are all the members of the cast—including guest star Mark Hamill as Jim the Vampire and Black Peter!

I only wish that creator/artist/baker Jenny Sparks had included a figure for Jesh. Jeth. Jesk. Um, Gregor. And maybe the Nadja doll. Oh, and Jackie Daytona definitely needed his own separate figure, too.
