What’s to Come on ‘Being Human’ Season Two

SyFy’s Being Human, the American remake of the popular British show, was such a success its first season that it was signed on for a second. This fantastic news has left a lot of fans wondering if the American show will continue to mimic the British series (which is working on its fourth season). Well, thanks to Comic-con we have our answer!

The first season of SyFy’s Being Human was nearly identical to the original version, in some episodes it was copied scene-for-scene. But according to the Being Human panel at Comic-con they aren’t doing that in season 2.

“This year, we’ll see that we’re striking on a way different path,” promises American executive producer Jeremy Carver. “We’re laying down our own framework here.”

Personally, I love that they are switching it up. I don’t really like the idea of the two versions being 100% the same. That’s just ridiculous to me.

Anyway, season 2 started shooting a few weeks ago and is set to return to Syfy channel in January. Yay! During the panel the guys revealed a tiny bit on what’s to come, but of course they couldn’t share too much so they were all hush hush.

Sam Witwer, who plays Aidan, the sexy vampire, said that with Bishop dead, Aidan has kind of gone off the rails. Despite the rocky relationship that Aidan had with his maker, Aidan is lost without him. “He kills a girl in the first episode,” Witwer said.

As for Josh, the werewolf, Sam Huntington said that his character “[is] stronger and he’s more in tune with who he is. His relationship with Norah has developed in very interesting ways,” he says. Norah is, as you fans remember, his girlfriend, who might have lost their werewolf love child during the full moon when Josh may or may not have made Norah a werewolf like him.  Damn cliff hangers…

If that wasn’t exciting enough, Carver added that season 2 will feature “new types of werewolves, vampires and ghosts.”

I can’t wait! What about you? I love Syfy’s version WAY more than the original British version, so I am pretty excited.

  1. Can anyone explain why it is necessary to remake TV shows and films for America? Not just Being Human, also Let the right one in and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Great originals and in BH you don’t even need subtitles. So if you think it is good, great, watch it. If you want to make something different, make something different and original!

  5. I can’t imagine any other version being better than UK. Plus, the humour of it is so UK – US’ing it will spoil it. PLUS – The sexy vamp isn’t even sexy – where Mitchel was super hot in UK version.

Make up something original – US can definitely do that – look at True Blood and Vampire Diaries. Why take a superb series and americanise it? It’s like The Office? Ruined! No one could do it better than Ricky.

Make new US progs – stop americanising great UK progs!

I can’t wait for series four of the UK Being Human – Although as Mitchel got killed last series, I can only hope they find a way to bring him back, like they did the other v….. Oh. Better not. Just in case your series does mirror ours! ;D Did someone mention cliff hangers. ;D XX

    1. To each their own :) Personally, I think the UK version is poorly made. It comes off as really cheesy to me. Plus, I don’t find any of the characters/actors likeable.

And Americans aren’t the only ones stealing shows, the UK takes ours too, that’s just how it is :) See here.
