How they handle peer pressure, nasty gossip, new relationships, and anonymous threats may mean life or death.

By Moonlight

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).

    1. Theres a vampire series that I dont see here or maybe I didnt look hard enough. Its a series by J.R. Ward called the Black Dagger BrotherHood. Ive read The Twilight Saga and Ive read the series by De La Cruz. I haven’t read the Vampire Diaries. But The Black Dagger BrotherHood is by far my favorite, surpassing even Twilight. Its highly erotic but the storyline is awesome. Check the series out and you should add it on ur site if its not already here

      1. If it’s very erotic then it’s probably not a young adult book, but either way I’ll check it out (I love me some naughty vamp books). Thanks for the recommendation :)

        1. O yes Its VERI erotic. I love this series. I just got the newest book in the series its called Lover Mine. I cant wait to read it. I cant help it if I love the erotic yummy :)

    2. it’s probably house of night series……i think that’s really awesome…. but vampire kisses is really good 2..

  8. OH, I read The Vampire Diaries series! It’s so good, but it’s true, the books are a lot more different than the show.

  9. I have read almost every book on the list and I have to say that the best is the house of night series….its the best.

    1. Oh please, are you insane? Clearly the best one is the Vampire Academy. Don’t be fooled by the fact that EVERY SINGLE guy falls in love with the annoying (and slutty I might add) Zoey. She hasn’t got shit on Rose. Not to mention the storyline is way better and so is the writing.

      1. Of course Vampire Academy!! Then Vamp Diaries (I can’t watch that trainwreck of a show.. it’s like one tree hill of vampires lol or something teenish) and then Twilight :).

        1. Hey! don’t dis the Vampire Diaries show! sure it sux compared 2 the book, but the show byitself doesn’t suck.

      2. what the hell is wrong with u?!?! Zoey is awesome! she is not slutty! that would b Aphrodite that is slutty. there is somethig seriously wrong with u if u dont love it

      3. yeah i totally agree, Zoey is kind of annoying so much that i didnt want to keep reading the night world series i got to the second one and had to stop. Rose may be a little bit of a mary-sue but thats just who she is my all time favorite series

    2. i totally agree with u. house of night series. Did u hear that P.C. Cast wrote a different book? my library has it but i haven’t had time 2 read it yet

      1. The house night series is a good idea, but it’s poorly written. Vampire Academy is one of the best on the list

    3. i havent read any vampire books but i dig twilight and the manga and anime , i also love the comic books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i also love drawing them

  10. Appart from Twilight and Vampire Diaries… my Fav would have to be the Evernight series by Claudia Gray… wonderful, suspensful, brilliant! Waiting for the final book in the series to be released next year!

  11. vampire says:

i worship vampires,i love them, they r my world, but my favorite vampire series is The Vampire Diaries ( but i love the show more than the book series)!!!!

    1. wow! every one just loves vampire series now.no one got really really interested until twilight came out.i like the twilight series but i like vampire academy series better!!!:D

    1. u shouldn’t hate being human, read Eclipse from the Twilight saga, then u’ll know what i mean there is a lot 2 look 4ward 2. & thats coming from someone who hates this life.

    2. Its always better to be the hunter insted of the hunted, But that is an un-true statment of life. Because the hunter can and will be the hunted every now and then. But at least you didn’t have to go through your childhood as the “Freak of nature with no father” :[

  12. CDF, all the way <3
I've never read Vamp Diaries, but I watched one ep of it and it really WAS One Tree Hill with vampires. It made me wanna retch :\

Twilight was good when I was thirteen, and in black-and-white format with only myself and a few others reading it, but nowadays it's too "OMGEDWARD -fap, fap, fap-" for me to take it srsly (N)

    1. I agree… I remember reading the books, off in my own little world… the movies don’t do the books justice… but still, I sit and wait for the next movie installment.

  13. My fav would have to be the House of Night series. Does anyone when Burned the 7th book will be coming out? I’ve been looking 4 it but it hasn’t turned up. why is this only 4 books? i know a vampire TV series that isn’t here. the famed Moonlight. wouldn’t b awesome 4 them 2 make a movie?

  14. my favouries vampire series is deffiantly The Vampire Diaries! i have read, and own, all 4 of the books and i plan to get the 5th, if one comes out. i watch the show every Thursday and i have never missed and episode since i got hooked! but i must say that a close second has to be Twilight, but i could live without the movies.

  15. I think the Twilight seires the best. But I did read some of buffy the vapire slayer. It wasn’t have bad.If I had to pick between the Twilight seires and Buffy the vampire slayer,it would totally be the Twilight seires.

  16. What about interview with a vampire, by anne rice? How can you forget this!!! It’s some kind of classic. You see vampire there, you see human, struggle, suffering… I don’t see vampire chronicles above…

    1. Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles are SO not a young adult series. This post is about all the teen series out there

    1. I agree with you that vampires are the bom………….. But i dont really want to be one……… the truth is i would rather be a werewolf…… But a lot of people think i would be better off as a vampire.

  17. Are the Blood Coven books good?

I have only read Twilight and it is really amazing, but I want to read more vampire books.

I haven’t read the Vampire Diaries but i read the plot of The Awakening and it seems a lot worse than the series. Plus, I LOVE the series and I know that if i read the book and like them, I won’t like the tv show anymore and I really don’t want that but there are other vampbooks I can read so…..

I read a book called Evermore, and I’m not sure if it’s about vampires or immortals because I didn’t like it so I didn’t pay attention to what was happening but if it is about vampires you should put it.

      1. I havent read evermore yet but i am starting to re-think that.when i was younger i read these books called My Sisters a Vampire, I remembered i LOVED them and couldnt get enough. Im starting to like the Twilight saga a little better but i still think bella should pick jacob.

  18. I’m friends with the girl thats in love with Vladimir Tod LoL…I like Cirque Du Freak!

    1. I agree~!
Did you know they have a comic book out of Cirque du Freak? It’s japanese-style though, so I don’t know if you’d be able to get into it.

  19. hi i love the books of the twilight saga and i like so much the vampires. i want to shopthe saga of house of night but i dont know first i want to know, the book its interesting? please someone who was read that book say me tanks oh and i like so much this page i’ll visit this page all the days ! *=F

    1. House of Night series is pretty good…the main characters are kind of cute, in the adorable, quirky sense (I think, anyways).
The style of writing is…eeeeh…okay, I suppose. But if you can really get into a story, that probably won’t bother you.

      1. i loved the Night world series. My sister is reading this other book series called Catching Souls, its not about vampires or anything realated to that but she says its really good.

  20. I really like the Vladimir Tod series and Cirque du Freak.
Vlad Tod has a really quirky sense of wit to it.
Cirque du Freak has an amazing plot line, and it’s not JUST about vampires; it also has zombie-like creatures, a wolf man, a snake boy, and tons of other freaks (hence the name).
I’ve also read House of Night. :) It’s good, but not one of my ABSOLUTE favorites…
…And I never really got into Vampire Diaries.
And as for Twilight, it was good the first time I read it…the second time, it seemed a little bit…Mary-sue (If you don’t know what it means, look it up!! It actually might help you describe some things). :(
    Maybe that’s just me though.

  21. I’ve just finished re-reading the twilight series and the vampire diaries and I can’t decide which is my favourite. Also could the ‘Night World’ series by L.J Smith be on the list too? It’s not solely about vampires, but most of it is. And it’s definitely worth reading.

    1. The Night World series is plenty worth reading, but the Twilight saga was a little TO froofroo for me though, but I`m picky about my books.

      1. Wait, I’ve changed my mind, I am now definitely sure what my favourite vampire Series is…
        1) Vampire Academy
        in second place…
        2) Vampire Diaries – also hooked on the tv series
        in third place…
        3) Night World Series
        4) Twilight
        5) House of Night

  22. You forgot Nightworld series by L. J. Smith. They’re one of the best books, I’ve ever read.

  23. I’m new to Vampire Books, but I like them! My tragic story is that I live in a place where they are at short supply :( Anyway, I love the House of Night Novels (though I must admit they are a bit poorly written) and since Twilight got me started I owe it something. This is a cool website and now I’ve got a whole lot more books to buy(libraries here don’t have them) and my mum will probably go crazy! :)

  24. i’ve always wondered if vamps are really real? does any of you think that? think about it. were did all the legends come from if there is no such thing. why do they all say they can’t go in the light if they do, blah.blah.blah… and they drink blood to restore they’re self. where’d it6 all come from?

    1. IM WONDERING THE SAME THING! i think they were real. maybe a experiment went wrong or somebody went coocoo and started having these visions or dreams.on discovery kids ( i thought that channel was dumb, but they have this new show that says all these questions we are asking and they answer them ) says the Wolfman was a dream or something because this one guy ate bad bread and started killing all these people cause he thought he turned into a man-eating wolf. I know this has nothing to do with this whole conversation but do you think dragons once were living breathing things. to me all they were were reptiles with wings and thats what a teradactale was.

    2. They started with Vlad the impaler and some lady who bathed in young girls blood to stay young. if you dont know how they are look them up. though i like to believe they are real.

  25. I absolutely love the ‘vampire kisses’ series. If anyone knows about anymore books with vampires, immortals, or eternal love pleeeeease tell me.

  26. Hi
The true blood series by Charlene Harri sis very intriging to all whom like the tv series however the books do not completely follow the series but in my opinion is just as good… although it is quite expense

In comparison i adore the Charlene Harris Morganville book series as although set on teenagers (which captures me as i am one) is also cheap so i can get them all as like the True Blood series i can’t put them down…

I’d check them out if u already haven’t

    JJ

  27. I’m not sure if this counts as “young adult” (’cause in a few scenes it really shouldn’t) but the Sookie Stackhouse Novels by Charlaine Harris should really be high up on that list of “Amazing YA Vampire Series”. It has Vamps and Werewolves and Witches and even Fairies! Definitely one of the best Vampire Series I’ve read.

  28. Not ALL!!!! Vampires r dark nore bad. Not all hide in the dark. Not all drink blood. Why does every one believe in the stario types!!!!!!????????

  29. Best Vampire t.v show in my opinion is “True Blood”. It’s got lots of drama, suspense, fantasy, and even some comedy. It is also pretty erotic and intense. Other than this I’ve only seen the “Twilight Saga” and “The Vampire Diaries” and to me those suck in comparison. (no pun intended lol)

  30. i read all kinds of vampire book the twilight series, the night world series, the vampire diaries series, the vampire slayer, any kinds are alright with me. And vampires are my life they turned my life around go vampires!!!!

  31. LOVE the Sookie Stackhouse books. I really want to start reading the Vampire Diaries because I hear they are really good to!

  32. I love Vampire Academy series, it is one of the most amazing series I have ever read!
I liked twilight movies, and the books are great.
I started watching Vampire diaries on TV and have started reading the books, both are just as good, but the books are completely different to the show which threw me off abit..
Will have to start another series..

  33. Hey’

anybody there have read new book?’
Guys I have read all of this…..
even the new release… Last book of both House of night and the Vampire academy…..
both have the same expected ending nothing to look forward too in reading… very predictable…..

    Twilight……. W/c the 1st book I’ve read as a seiris ….. Good Job

    Vampire Kisses….. Confusing…..

Blue Bloods … Is this about fashion?…..

Vampire Diaries…… not too descriptive on small details ……

Going to Start reading Evernight…. hope this is a good one…

this is just my opinion Okay…
    >>Just want to set my self CLEAR<<<<

  34. 1) Vampire Academy
    2) Morganville Vampires (reading atm) and Twilight (I think they’re equal quality)
    3) Vampire Kisses – tho it’s manga, but it’s sweet!

Out of league – Midnight Breed by Lara Adrian (not YA,18+, but the most gorgeous, dangerous, sexy and believable vamps I’ve ever seen in book!)

And I’m definitely gonna read Vladimir Tod, such an unusual storyline (well, no annoying teeny girls as main character xP)!
