Where Are They Now: Buffy Edition Part 1

For seven years, Buffy and the Scooby gang kicked, sliced and staked countless vampires, demons and monsters in the hit show ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ The show’s last season ended years ago in 2003 but it still has a huge fan base and I am betting some of you fans are wondering what ever happened to our beloved cast members.

Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers)
She played our favorite ass-kicking vampire slayer – Buffy. Even through Buffy’s run Gellar starred in a few movies like ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer,’ ‘Scream 2,’ ‘Cruel Intentions’ and the ‘Scooby Doo’ franchise, in which she starred alongside husband Freddie Prinze Jr. After Buffy ended she continued to make movies, mostly horror movies like ‘The Grudge’ and ‘Possession.’ She and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. had daughter Charlotte Grace Prinze, on September 19, 2009. Look for her in the upcoming HBO show ‘The Wonderful Maladys.’

Anthony Stewart Head (Rupert Giles)
Giles, Buffy’s loveable yoda-like watcher. After ‘Buffy’ Head went back to England where he did work in ‘Little Britain.’ He also had a small part in part in Tim Burton’s ‘Sweeney Todd.’ On top of that he had the role of  Uther Pendragon in ‘Merlin’ and can be seen in the upcoming production of ‘Macbeth.’

Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg)

Willow was our favorite redheaded nerd turned witch turned lesbian. Hannigan scored big after ‘Buffy,’ starring in the ‘American Pie’ franchise and ‘Date Movie.’ She currently stars in the comedy ‘How I Met Your Mother.’ Hannigan also met her husband, Alexis Denisof on the set of Buffy (he played Wesley Wyndham-Pryce) and they had their first child, Satyana on March 24, 2009.

Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris)
The hilarious and lovable Xander, one of my faves on the show. Since ‘Buffy’ ended, Brendon co-starred in the short-lived ‘Kitchen Confidential,’ voiced a character in ‘American Dragon: Jake Long,’ reunited with ‘Buffy’ co-star Charisma Carpenter in an ABC Family movie and had a small part in ‘Criminal Minds.’ You can hang out with him at the upcoming BloodLust Vampire Festival.

James Marsters (Spike)
I had the biggest crush on Spike! Sexy sexy! Anyway, after ‘Buffy’ Spike became a regular on ‘Angel,’ the ‘Buffy’ spin-off. After ‘Angel’ ended he landed a role in the show ‘Smallville’ and many other shows. He also starred in ‘Dragonball Evolution’ and the upcoming Dragonball flick.

Stay tuned for part two of Where Are They Now: Buffy Edition.

Moonlight (aka Amanda) loves to write about, read about and learn about everything pertaining to vampires. You will most likely find her huddled over a book of vampire folklore with coffee in hand. Touch her coffee and she may bite you (and not in the fun way).
