This one pisses me off.

SAINT MAUD has been getting crazy good reviews on the independent circuit. It has drawn comparisons to intellectual Horror films like HEREDITARY, SOLSTICE, THE WITCH, and US. I have been excited about seeing it ever since I first learned about it. After getting bumped from the schedule, SAINT MAUD is set for release to theaters this coming weekend—in England. There are no plans at this time for it to be released in the United States. Why the hell not? What possible reason could there be for making such a decision? Would it cost more to release it to American theaters than they could realistically expect to bring in in profit? I don’t see how that could be possible. I don’t see how it could cost much at all to release a movie internationally today, with technology being what it is, and any money they might bring in from American theaters would be pure gravy. Why would they not want to take advantage of that? I’m going to have to just chalk this one up to people being dumbasses. I can’t jaunt off to merry olde England just to see a movie, not even a really good one. When will I get to see SAINT MAUD?
