Who’s the Richest Man in Fiction? Carlisle Cullen!

With so many people constantly looking at how much money is made in different careers, and among different celebrities, doesn’t it make sense that someone would eventually want to create a list of the richest people in fiction? And who better to create such a list than Forbes magazine, a publication that stands for sophistication and wealth? According to Forbes, the richest man in fiction is none other than father figure, Carlisle Cullen, making an estimated $34 billion. That’s a crapload of money!

It’s no wonder that Carlisle would be the wealthiest character in fiction. He is a doctor, and has been practicing for a very, very, very long time. He likely has no real expenses, as his home was probably bought outright about a two hundred years ago. Also given the fact that he did have those connections back in Italy that gave him the money that he invested. And, with the help of Alice, was able to invest it wisely and only continue making money. Also given the fact that he owns tons of property, tons of cars, and at least one yacht that we know of, Carlisle Cullen is a very rich man indeed. More details of Carlisle’s amassed wealth comes from Forbes,

“Immortal vampire and small-town doctor has quietly amassed a fortune over the centuries. In 1670 received generous handout from Italian friends; put savings in bank, reaped billions in compound interest. Made shrewd long-term investments in steel, gold, oil, thanks to prescience of daughter turned financial advisor Alice; saw recessions coming, invested early in Wal-Mart. Earned doctor’s salary for 340 years without paying for groceries, health care expenses. Avoids sunshine and public displays of wealth but owns several valuable properties, including yacht, private island, collection of Renaissance art.”

Scrooge McDuck came in just under Carlisle at $33.5 billion and coming in third was Richie Rich, who reportedly makes $11.5 billion. That’s a big jump from the first and second positions. I do think it’s funny that the Cullens have placed so much attention on how much money vampires make. Maybe it’s just a sign of how the world is changing, even the one of vampires. We’ve gone from cloaks and daggers to Porsches and islands.

  5. I can’t say that I agree with Forbes on this one ;) In Anne Rice’s vampire novels some of them have been building up their wealth for thousands of years, and Armand, even though he’s only 500 he was also crazy rich.

  6. It was a pretty interesting list, I must say. I looked for Armand but couldn’t find the name, and there were only 15. The Tooth Fairy came in at #8 with 3.9 billion HAHAHA For location, it was listed “N/A” Yeah, I’d say…lol
