According to various sources, Warner Bros., the folks behind some of the biggest and best movies out there, has just acquired the rights to Blood Wars, which is said to be “a radical reinvention of vampire mythology.”
Since they just bought the rights and haven’t even begun the project yet, not much is known about Blood Wars, all they have given us is a teeny tiny little plot outline of the upcoming film. Check it out:
“In the Warner Bros. version of the story, vampires have control of the world and humans are their slaves. But humans infiltrate the vampire army and plan a rebellion.”
Yeah, that’s not a lot to go on, I’m wondering where the “radical reinvention of vampire mythology” comes in, because that plot description isn’t giving me anything. Unfortunately, there just no more info on the story or the vampires in the project.
All we do know is that film is based on a story written by Chad St. John and Blacklight Transmedia, that Imagine Entertainment is producing and that Dalan Musson is writing the script. That also isn’t much to go on since none of these people are all that well known. The only other info on Blood Wars is that Jon Berg is overseeing it for Warner Bros. and Sarah Bowen, Imagine’s executive, is overseeing it for them. Oh, and Zak Kadison is set to produce the film. Honestly, I don’t care about all of that, I just want more dish on the story! That’s what I hate about vampire films that are still in the early stages, the lack of solid information. But I assure you, when I know more, so will you.
Until then, let’s just play a guessing game! What do you guys think Blood Wars will be like? Let your imaginations run wild! Personally I’ve got nothing, all I know is that if WB is behind it it’s going to be a big badass production.
