I was sort of wondering how they were going to shoot Breaking Dawn, the fourth installment of the Twilight saga. There’s so much that happens in it, I was wondering how they were going to edit it so that it wasn’t eight hours long and we still didn’t miss any of the vital parts – which is just about every part of that book. So when rumors started circulating that the movie was going to be broken up into two different parts, I really thought that sounded like the best option. Even though it means I’ll have to wait even longer to see the whole thing play out on the big screen.
Now though, it seems those rumors have been laid to rest as it has been confirmed that Breaking Dawn will in fact, be split up into two parts. And it seems that the actors want to cash in on the success of that movie as well. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, all of whom of course play major roles, are in the process of renegotiating their contracts into a collective agreement. This means that they would all be paid the same amount of money and they would all be under one contract. Usually, these contracts work on a percentage increase so I’m guessing that they’ll have increased royalties, etc. as time goes on. This newest insider scoop on Breaking Dawn comes from Celebrity Dirty Laundry who apparently have an insider on the set,
““New Moon” continues to break box office records regardless of being panned by critics. Negotiations have started with the principal actors for the last “Twilight” saga film “Breaking Dawn”. It seems Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner may be negotiating their contracts for Breaking Dawn as a Twilight Saga collective to give them more financial leverage for Breaking Dawn after the success of New Moon. Not an unusual move. The cast of “Friends” used the same tactics.
Although there are rumors that “Breaking Dawn” will be split into two parts – our insider on the set of New Moon confirmed that it is no longer a rumor that there is a definite plan two split it into two parts. As a matter of fact he confirmed they will be shooting the two parts back to back.
This makes sense since as the movies get more and more popular the stars like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will get other offers and it will get more and more difficult to have them all together.”
I’m pretty sure that if they film the two movies back to back, which I think they will, that it won’t have anything to do with not being able to get all the actors together. Obviously whoever wrote this particular piece hasn’t seen the movies or read the books as I’m pretty sure the reasoning would be because the vampires can’t age, and it’s hard to edit someone to be younger. So who knows whether or not they’re “source” is accurate or not. I could go either way on them breaking it up into two parts. On one hand, I really don’t want to have to wait a year between the two parts. But, I also don’t want to have to book off an entire day just to watch a movie.
