You Can’t Please Everybody

Guess it’s time for another one of those PSA posts that I have to make from time to time.

Now I do get that there are some people, a lot of people, who get on the Internet for the express reason of bitching. We wouldn’t want to deprive those people of one of the great pleasures in their lives. Still, a little reminder might be beneficial to the rest of us. This past week we had a couple of dudes griping that there were too many comics-related posts on this site, and that those posts weren’t directly related to vampires. While that’s true, last week was just heavy with comics-related happenings. Nobody planned it that way. And before last week I can’t even remember the last time we posted any articles related to comics. And again, for every person who isn’t interested in comicbooks and doesn’t care to read about them on this site, there is another who wishes we’d cover comics *more* than we do. You can’t please everybody no matter how much you might want to.

We don’t limit ourselves to only covering traditional vampires that drink blood, disintegrate in sunlight, and don’t much like garlic. Sure, those standards get covered the most, but to focus only on the like would be limiting. That’s why here you’ll read about zombies, ghosts—really anything that rises from the dead. You’ll read about fetishists and sanguinarians. You’ll hear about the new Batman movie because Robert Pattinson is playing Batman. And yes, you’ll hear about comics every once in a while, because some of our readers are interested in comics. If you aren’t interested in a particular post, hopefully the next one will be more to your liking.

Oh, and we once got a complaint from a guy because we were reporting on the TV series NOS4A2, because the vampire in that story isn’t a “real” vampire. I kid you not. So see, no matter what, you’re gonna have somebody complaining about something.

Hopefully nobody will complain about us having a post dedicated to those who complain.

  1. Well, try as you might–you simply cannot please EVERYBODY- I have been criticized for being too right wing for the Left, too left wing for the Right, too pro-American for some, not nearly pro-American for others!
