Zack from SAVED BY THE BELL is a Vampire?!?!

I probably should cut Mark-Paul Gosselaar some slack. A little slack. After all, he proved with his stint on NYPD BLUE that he is capable of serious acting. Unfortunately, he will always be Zack Morris to me. Not that I ever watched SAVED BY THE BELL. I didn’t, despite the fact that I found Tiffany-Amber Thiessen scrumptious. But I was aware of it, as I was poking fun at it even back when it first aired. Could Gosselaar ever do anything to erase from my mind his Saturday-morning sitcom days? I suppose it’s possible. He’d have to pull a Heath Ledger on a serious project, something loaded with gravitas. Something, perhaps, like the forthcoming series THE PASSAGE, which will debut on Fox at some point in the future.

What is THE PASSAGE? It is, and I quote, “an epic, character‐driven thriller about a secret government medical facility experimenting with a dangerous virus that could either cure all disease or cause the downfall of the human race. The series focuses on a 10‐year‐old girl named Amy Bellafonte (Saniyya Sidney), who is chosen to be a test subject for this experiment and Brad Wolgast (Gosselaar), the federal agent who becomes her surrogate father as he tries to protect her.”

Oh, so Gosselaar isn’t a vampire. He’s the ersatz Renfield to an ersatz Claudia. Got it.

Eh, it might be good. Ridley Scott is an executive producer, so there’s some room for hope.

WAYNE MILLER is the owner and creative director of EVIL CHEEZ PRODUCTIONS (www.evilcheezproductions.blogspot.com, www.facebook.com/evilcheezproductions), specializing in theatrical performances and haunted attractions. He has written, produced and directed (and occasionally acted in) over a dozen plays, most of them in the Horror and Crime genres. His first novel, THE CONFESSIONS OF SAINT CHRISTOPHER: WEREWOLF, is available for purchase here: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/734763
